We have been looking for options for guests that may be seeking open spaces, walking or maybe some fitness activities whilst Staying in Norwich.

The closest opportunity is right behind us at the Riverside Leisure Centre. There is a full length swimming pool, a gym, sauna, steam room. Guests can go in an pay for a visit. There are hairdryers in the changing rooms.

Around a mile away is Whitlingham Broad & Whitlingham Outdoor Centre, the closest access to the Norfolk Broads. We regularly run and cycle around the broad and a return trip (of the whole area) on foot is around 9km.

The Norfolk Broads! A real gem and most definitely worth a visit, a walk and if time allows a day boat trip.

There is a small park at Trowse, again around a mile and just before Whitlingham. The village is sweet, there are 3 pubs restaurants including a decent vegetarian restaurant.

Eaton Park out near the UEA. Weekly Park Run on a Saturday morning. Boating lake, café run by The Bicycle Shop (Norwich Lanes), Bandstand. On July 10th they are hosting an Eaton Park Showcase, with free taster sessions of Tennis, Cycling, Running, Footy, Cricket, Table Tennis and Basketball. Skyrides 10am Sunday 26 June www.goskyride.com/norwich

Catton Park, once again a weekly Saturday Morning Park Run, a pretty park, with a rural rather than city feel.

The Plantation Garden. Small entrance charge, a lovely Victorian Garden, right in the city, good for a meander and stroll and a pleasure to see.

Run Norwich Sunday 7 August 10km Road Race.

Other parks include: Harford, Bowthorpe, Alderman Walker, Waterloo & Lakenham Recreation Ground, Chapelfield Gardens.
