The Norfolk Broads.

With so many opportunities for days out during a Norwich City Break, sometimes a few suggestions may be welcome!

We cover the ‘city’ options regularly, so how about a day trip?

Probably the most obvious place is The Norfolk Broads, especially while staying at 106 The Malt House, as the nearest starting point is approximately 1.6 miles away at Whittlingham. The River Wensum turns into the River Yare and heads from Whittlingham via Thorpe St Andrew and off into The Broads. Try here for a map and lots of information courtesy of Broadsnet.

Visit Norfolk also has useful info regarding the area! The Broads Authority too!

There are multiple options for getting about, train from Norwich Rail Station, Bike (bring your own and use the locked bike store) or hire one from Bicycle Links on King Street, or Car, giving you the freedom of choice and a homemade picnic.

We really like Coltishall, it’s a perfect spot for a snooze on the river’s edge, with a picnic and blanket and a stroll round the shops. Beccles is a fab little town, with lots going on, good cafe’s and restaurants, some independent shopping and a great walk around it’s small marina. Wroxham is busy busy busy and has endless possibilities for commandeering your own day boat and heading off on the water.

If you do book to stay with us, and do a ‘Broads Tour’ do send us a ‘blog’ it will really be useful to other guests!
