We are so lucky in Norwich to have many historic buildings, the biggest being the Two Cathedrals!
St John The Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral pictured left and Norwich Cathedral. Both are open to the public for visits and both have opportunities for tea and coffee on site.
Right here on King Street we also have St Julian’s Church, I’ve just visited this week, and seen the room where Lady Julian lived as a hermit for 30 years, she was the woman who wrote the book Revelations of Devine Love. There is no charge to see the place and it’s very short stroll from 106!
For something a little more contemporary, visit the vast glass fronted Forum, just behind Norwich Open Air Market. It houses the local tourist information centre, BBC, a Pizza Express and Café Bar Marzano, Norwich Millennium Library and holds numerous exhibitions throughout the year!
Take a stroll through Norwich Lanes, a pretty networks of lanes and alleyways, home to a fabulous array of independent businesses, shops, cafe’s, bar’s and restaurants and voted best British High Street in recent years!
There is great retail therapy potential with Chapelfields & Castle Mall, The Royal Arcade & Norwich Market.
To party, visit The Waterfront, check out what’s on at The Norfolk Showground, Norwich City Football Club (Take That are here in June) or the UEA. There is a vibrant pub and bar scene in the city and yet ultimately it feels safe and friendly!
